Job Description:
Cook Helper job responsibilities are varied and important. This position is responsible for assisting the cook in preparing food in a clean, safe, and timely manner. Cook Helpers must be able to follow recipes and keep up with orders while adhering to safety protocols. In addition to food preparation, Cook Helpers are also responsible for ensuring that all kitchen equipment is properly cleaned, maintained, and stored appropriately.
Cook Helpers must have a good eye for detail, as they must be able to accurately measure ingredients and ensure that quality standards are met when prepping meals or baking goods. They are also expected to assist the cook in stocking inventory items such as spices and sauces before each shift begins. Additionally, Cook Helpers may be required to help plate dishes before serving them or place prepackaged meals into containers for customers’ take-home orders.
Required Education:
College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma
