Job Description:

Working on a dairy farm is a rewarding job that allows you to be close to nature while providing an important service. A dairy farm worker’s main responsibility is to tend to the cows and maintain the farm. They must know about animal husbandry and nutrition, as well as possess good physical strength and stamina. 

Daily tasks include milking cows, cleaning equipment, monitoring cow behavior for illness or injury, assisting with birthing newborn calves, feeding the animals in their care, collecting eggs from chickens, moving hay bales around the property, maintaining fences and barns and repairing any machinery that breaks down. The worker must also be able to work long hours outdoors in all weather conditions throughout the year.
